In 2016, LabPulse was contacted by a customer from Ethiopia looking to set up a lab. After speaking with this customer, Mike Nesta, President & CEO of Labpulse Medical, a division of Energy Beam Sciences, learned about the state of pathology in Africa. Tissue samples are hand carried to the USA and sent to a lab for processing. This can delay the process of diagnosis by up to 6 months.
With further research, Mike heard about the Mobilizing Medical Missions (M3) conference, and he attended the conference in Houston, TX. Here, he met individuals that were working on a mission in Africa. This particular mission was connected to Mbingo Baptist Hospital in Cameroon, Africa. LabPulse took the opportunity to donate an Embedding Center, various consumables, a Microwave Tissue Processor, and a Microtome to this mission based hospital.
